Where to start?
From the beginning I guess, I was born in December of 82'
here in Melbourne. No I'm not very old, still many years of
shooting ahead of me. Photography has only been a fairly recent
thing for me, despite it being the only thing I've wanted
to do since finishing school. Let this be a lesson to all
you budding photographers out there, don't ever let anyone
tell you not to get into photography! If you want to do it,
then by all means go and do it. I was told not to get into
it when I left school, so instead I went and studied multimedia.
I regret not doing photography from the start. After 2 years
of multimedia, I got sick of it and dumped it. I got sick
of sitting in front of a computer all day making stupid buttons
for websites. Now not knowing what to do with myself, I turned
to that which I always wanted to do, and apart from my day
job, I'm shooting as much as I can of whatever I can.
I am currently
still studying photography at the International College of
Professional Photography (what a mouthful!) in South Melbourne.
A great little college with great people. My main passion
is landscape photography. There is no better feeling that
to get up for sunrise out in the aussie bush with no one else
around to bother you, its just you, your camera and the magnificent
landscape. It's a kind of meditation I guess, as I'm always
happy and relaxed after a good day of shooting. My favourite
areas to shoot are the Grampians, Glenmaggie and the Great
Ocean Rd. Mainly because they're close and I don't have the
time/money to go further! Seriously though, they are wonderful
regions of Australia and I love them dearly.
My other favourite
thing to shoot is cars. I'm a bit of a car nut I guess, involving
myself with the E-Series Owners Club mainly. I'm known through
the club for hanging out the side of someone else's car with
a camera in my hands, not thinking about how bad the windburn
will be later on! I shoot all cars though, and I love my 4WDs
as well.
Photo retouching
and restoration, portraiture, commercial and cityscape photography,
I love it all I guess. But my landscapes will always be #1!
